Arts in the Park

Free events in Hagerstown City Park

Arts in the Park was introduced in the fall of 2012 by the Historic City Park Neighborhoods 1st Group with the purpose of offering free, quality programming and  entertainment for persons of all ages such as:

  • Music

  • Puppet Shows
  • Story Telling
  • Art Class
  • School Plays
  • Dance Performances
  • Martial Art Class
  • Multi Cultural Education
  • Dance Class
  • Poetry Reading
  • Crafts

Arts in the Park is made possible by Through a partnership between the Historic City Park Neighborhoods 1st and The City of Hagerstown, Parks & Recreation Division. This summer an event has been scheduled for every other Sunday at 1pm with hopes to offer an event every Sunday next year.

Funding to support the events is raised through corporate sponsorships. The events are supported by dedicated volunteers.

The City of Hagerstown, Parks & Recreation Division provides in-kind logistical and support services in lieu of financial contributions.

This will be the first official year for Arts in the Park. A trial run was held in September with the performance of Mozart’s The Magic Flute by the Hub Opera Ensemble with huge acclaim by the city, media and its residents.
