Ms Laurel Khan is seeking the position of President of the Historic City Park Neighborhood First Program. Ms Laurel Kahn has been a resident of Hagerstown at City Park and has been very active with the Arts and Entertainment at the Maryland Theatre and surrounding areas. She’s a band promoter and booking agent. She started organizing a Neighborhood First group at the City Park including organizing,implementing and delegating the first City Park Block Party on Reynolds Avenue in June of 2009. There were free giveaways, local vendors, local photographer and newspaper reporters and great raffle prizes given. Area bands participated as well as the Fire department and Police K-9 division. She is currently developing and coordinating the Battle of the Bands in a 4 state area for this next year. She owns and operates Labs Electric LLC, a full service electric company serving residential and commercial entities.

Ms Laurel Kahn’s goal for the neighborhood is to meet and bring this neighborhood together, make this already beautiful area more inviting by community involvement and implementing visions for the future residents.

WHAT: Second annual Bark in the Park, fundraiser for the Humane Society of Washington County
WHEN: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19
WHERE: Doubs Woods Park, Hagerstown. Accessible off Maryland Avenue or via South Potomac Street between E. Russell Hicks Middle School and Emma K. Doub Elementary School.
COST: Free to attend; $10 per dog to participate in games and contests; some other events charge a fee.

We are now officially the Hagerstown Historic City Park District. Thanks everyone for coming out to the meeting. We were able to accomplish a lot tonight and it was great to meet and get to know our neighbors.
