Hagerstown City Park is known as America's 2nd most beautiful park. The first most beautiful being Central Park in New York City. The park was designed by landscape architect George Burnap who helped design some of the landscapes in Central Park. 
The neighborhood surrounding City Park is one of the oldest in Maryland and features houses from the 1750s to present day. The neighborhood has formed a Neighborhoods 1st Group in 2009 and is currently the largest in the City of Hagerstown with over 2,500 residents. The neighborhood group works to improve the park and surrounding areas.
