Events at the Museum
The Washington County Museum of Fine Arts announces the 3rd Annual Autumn
Arts Festival in City Park to be held on September 12 and 13, 2009. Â The
Festival is held in collaboration with the Jonathan Hager House and Museum,
Hagerstown Railroad Museum, the Mansion House Art Center and WCMFA.
Exciting events and activities are scheduled for each site and throughout
City Park from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day.  The Museum’s events are
sponsored in part by the Washington County Gaming Commission, PNC Bank and
the Washington County Convention and Visitors Bureau. Â Â Baked goods, snacks
and drinks will be available in the Museum’s parking lot and garden.
Saturday, September 12
Free Children’s Art Activities located in the Museum’s Parking Lot:  Leaf
printing, watercolor butterflies, “My Name†art center, scratch art, design
your own card center and watercolor snowflakes.
Come and meet the Museum’s Art School instructors who will be leading the
activities. Â See what exciting classes for children the Museum will be
offering and sign up.
Enjoy a balloon sculptor and face painting, both free of charge!
Art Demonstrations, Anne G. and Howard S. Kaylor Garden in Front of the
Museum: Â Meet some of the instructors of our adult classes in the garden
where they will be demonstrating their skills and offering works for sale.
Inside the Museum: Â Exciting exhibitions, scavenger hunt and gift shop.

As always, exhibitions at the Museum are admission free and don’t forget to
have fun with our scavenger hunt and visit our gift shop.
Dedicated to collecting, preserving and interpreting works of art for the
people of Washington County and citizens from the quad-state (MD, PA, VA,
WV) region, for over seventy-eight years, the Washington County Museum of
Fine Arts has been recognized as one of the finest small museums in the

American Association of Museums and its collection includes over 7,000 works
